The objective of the Street Furniture Grant is to contribute to vibrant town and village centres by assisting and supporting the hospitality sector in establishing outdoor dining facilities in the public realm. The Grant provides support towards the cost of equipment to provide on-street outdoor seating and accessories in reopening post Covid-19.
A consistent and high-quality standard in the street furniture is required in order to:
enhance the appeal of town and village centres
create confidence in visiting and dining in town and village centres
The scheme will provide up to 75% of the ex VAT cost of equipment purchased/installed, with a maximum allowable contribution of €2,000 per applicant.
What Items will be considered for the grant?
Any licensed furniture and accessories that support outdoor dining in the public realm may be considered for this grant. This includes tables, chairs, umbrellas, electric heaters, screens, etc.
Eligibility
Small independently run businesses where food is sold for consumption on the premises, fronting onto a public space, are eligible to apply where:
A Street Furniture Licence has been granted by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council for the furniture in question
The furniture is additional rather than replacement
The furniture was purchased between 1st June 2020 and 31st December 2022
Businesses who received funding under the Outdoor Dining Scheme which operated in 2021 are not eligible for funding under this Scheme.
Furnishings on private outdoor spaces are not eligible for funding under this Scheme.
