What this grant is for:
This grant helps artists, groups, and organisations pay for arts-related events, festivals, projects, regular arts activities or collaborations happening in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown
Funding is for the period January to December 2026.
You can apply if you’re involved in any kind of art: music, theatre, dance, film, literature, visual arts, architecture, circus, craft, opera, street art, or traditional arts. Collaborations between artists and communities are also welcome.
Aim: To support public engagement with the Arts in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown throughout the County and in a variety of artforms. This can be by allowing the public to engage as participants, spectators or collaborators.
Who and What we Fund:
- Individual artists and arts practitioners
- Not for profit Arts groups or organisations
- Arts Activities taking place in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown
- You can only apply for one Arts Grant. If you are applying to another Council Department for a grant you must state this in your application
What we don't fund:
- Any activity taking place outside Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown
- Activities already receiving Council funding
- Commercial activity or charity fundraisers
- International travel or college education
- The hire of Council premises
- Third party grants (giving the money to someone else)
- Assistance to cover loans or deficits
- No late applications will be considered
You can apply for:
· Events, festivals, or long-term projects that let the public experience the arts as spectators, participants or collaborators
· Regular arts activities such as amateur dramatic musical societies, choirs, writers groups, etc
· Collaborative/Participatory Projects between artists and community participants
How much you can apply for:
You can apply for a maximum of €5,000
How Your Application Will Be Judged
Your application will be scored based on:
- Quality of your past work (35 points)
- Quality of your proposal including demonstrated benefit (35 points)
- Feasibility –including ability to achieve on time and within budget (30 points)
As funding is limited proposals with greater need may also be prioritised
